This nine track release seems like a good place from which to start off the new official Funky Fella Crew site, freshly minted domain and all :)
and here’s the promo blahblah:
For its seventh release, FFC presents a full length LP from Doctor J!
“Wednesday Night! The Album” is a tribute to Doctor J’s weekly radio show on SUB.FM.It is a Texas sized slab of bass heavy crunkdub, in the minimal-yet-solid
Dirty South style that has become a trademark of the Funky Fella sound.
This album is dedicated to the listeners of the show, all of FFC’s awesome friends and fans, and everyone everywhere who enjoys speaker-thumping dubstep in all its forms. Thanks fam!Anyways, hope you dig the album and the new blog. We will be putting up mixes and free tunes and all that kinda good stuff as we go along, so feel free to follow and check it out…
Right, how did I not pimp this release on here earlier? And the awesome album cover by mrcookieface?
(Some people never seem to shut up about their shit it seems like. Me, I do a whole album—which I’ve never done, I mean even with bands and stuff it was always just EPs and singles—and barely tell anybody at all about it. Oh well, that’s the winning formula that made me the raging success I am today, haha)
But yeah, funkyfellacrew.com is the new “official” site of our label and DJ collective, so like all the smart musicians are doing nowadays, we just made a Tumblr out of it :) Feel free to follow if ya wanna; this acct here will pretty much keep doing what it’s doing, but the FFC site is where most of the personal music news and blahblah will end up. (and free music too! There are some tunes and mixes up there for download already)
Also while we’re at it here, I should mention that tomorrow (Friday) I’m doing this week’s guest mix on Bass Pon Mi (one of my favorite radio shows, doin’ it big every week straight outta Italy!)…11AM Eastern, 4pm GMT (listen links to sensimedia.net on their page)
