Agreed. CM Punk delivers a mic performance for the ages in this video, def worth a look even if you’re not usually into this sort of thing.
Whether it’s as “real” as anything else in the WWE is irrelevant, as the fact that some of this stuff is being brought up on their flagship television show at all is itself quite significant.
The very idea of taking one wrestling company’s title belt to another company, for example, is one of the ultimate taboos of old school wrestling. There have been many real life repercussions that have resulted from this over the years, such as the infamous Montreal Screwjob.
