Heh, yeah they used to be the Minneapolis Lakers back in the day.
The “Utah Jazz” is a funny one too. They were originally in New Orleans, where the nickname made more sense…
(loved Artest’s postgame speech. “I wanna thank everybody in my hood…also my psychiatrist, for keeping me calm during all this…I got a new single coming out next week, it’s called ‘Champion’! I made it last year, but it’s coming out now!” Hugs reporter lady, says something incoherent, wanders off camera)
cool, thanks for this. Managed to catch Jimmy Cliff singing the classic “Many Rivers to Cross”…how many times has he performed that tune in his life? Yet he gets up there and closes his eyes and gets into it as deeply as ever. Very nice.
Later it’s Jay Z too, which should be entertaining after the whole Bonnaroo backlash with Yeezy awhile back. Then tomorrow it’s Ween and Weezer and John Fogerty and other peoples as well.
(also the accompanying twitterchat is funny. Somebody was in there trying to convince everybody that Stevie Wonder got booed off stage, haha)
