Full Lana Del Rey Myspace Video
I like her because she’s weird, in an awesome way. The way she pronounces things when speaking and singing is intriguing to me. Her new album is much better than it’s getting credit for being (“Radio” and “Lucky Ones” are personal favorites). A lot of people are wrong right now about Lana Del Rey. Besides,...

Team Fortress 2 now free to play...forever →
Forever! Well that’s what they said, anyway. Presumably the service will be halted if the planet gets got by a solar flare or asteroid or encroaching climate change or similar extinction level events, but then again we probably won’t be warned beforehand if that happens for fear of “alarming the public” anyway, so hey might as well get a few rounds in before the apocalypse...

I knew you were going to find out about this, but I wanted you to hear it from me first.

It seems to be a day for this sort of introspection. Just got through reading an article where Kid Rock concedes that “Kid Rock” might not have been the best name choice for a guy who’s in his forties now.
(Maybe it was better in a way that my friends and I...

… another one of Doctor J’s brilliant liquid funk DnB mixes. Yeaaaaah, maaaaan.
I have some concerns, though. Apparently there are some people out there who aren’t following the Funky Fella Crew. Those people are missing out.
Oh wow thanks! Yeah we have a fairly solid group of “outside” readers but very few Tumblr-based followers. Hopefully more people will check...

OK internet, get at it.
What you see above is not a video, it’s a collection of 46 downloadable Charlie Sheen soundbytes.
Who’s up for a remix?
Well it would have been nice to have this before having to go through hours of interviews to get the material for the mix posted earlier :) No substitute for handcrafted quality, though (that’s my excuse heh)
Anyway, I hope this...

$3 worth of free mp3s at Amazon →
Again it looks like it’s been awhile since I posted anything here, so what better way to come back than to let the peoples know about this three dollar freebie music deal?
Like most of the holiday sale business happening currently, it’s good thru Nov 29.
(Self-pimpin: it feels a bit weird to note here that my own album is one of the many things you can spend it on, but hey I guess...

Heh, yeah they used to be the Minneapolis Lakers back in the day.
The “Utah Jazz” is a funny one too. They were originally in New Orleans, where the nickname made more...

cool, thanks for this. Managed to catch Jimmy Cliff singing the classic “Many Rivers to Cross”…how many times has he performed that tune in his life? Yet he gets up there and closes his eyes and gets into it as deeply as ever. Very nice.
Later it’s Jay Z too, which should be entertaining after the whole Bonnaroo backlash with...

I’m not sure I’m mentally prepared for Stringer Bell’s rap/reggaeton career.
This is actually kinda bangin’. Has anybody been watching him in Luther on BBC? Pretty good show so far.
This Saturday: free ice cream sundaes at Wal-Mart! →
We cover all the good stuff about music and free food here, haha. Hey, even if you hate Wal-Mart, you can cut into their profits a little this weekend by swarming up in there with your homies for some free ice cream sundaes. Besides, free ice cream.

Speaking of regional US differences, here’s some serious real talk from one of the original dons of Texas hip hop. I would quote stuff from it here, but then I’d end up quoting the whole piece because it is one of the most hilarious things I’ve read in a while. There’s a lot of truth in there though! Shit really is slowed down here so we can see it all…

Ambient Dubstep: The Beginning →
This is our new release, something way different this time. It’s ambient soundscapes with no beats or rhythmic pulse whatsoever, but we kept the wobble bass and occasional reggae samples from “traditional” dubstep.
Anyway, it’s like 45 mins of music for like two fitty, so that ain’t bad right? Definitely some introspective-style stuff to chill to. Hope you’ll...

So tell all your friends to follow us, and hopefully we’ll figure out what we’re doing. And thanks to the fine people of Tumblr for helping us upload our site archives so smoothly.
